An executive for the M Resort who has served as vice president of operations for Harrah’s Entertainment was named the new president and CEO of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Frederick’s of Hollywood Group Inc. and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas today announced an integrated marketing and media agreement that will bring together these two sexy and iconic brands for women.

The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino posted a loss of $26.5 million during the first quarter of 2010 as expenses increased at the newly expanded property.

CARSON CITY – The Nevada Gaming Control Board has recommended approval of a New York financier to play a key role in shaping the future of the Hard Rock hotel-casino in Las Vegas.

The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino said it narrowed its losses by about 34 percent last year, according to a filing today with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The property trimmed its loss of $299 million in 2008 to $197 million in 2009.

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s all-suite HRH Tower welcomed its first guests Monday. The new tower includes 359 “standard” suites, seven penthouses and eight spa villas with direct access to Hard Rock’s new pool area set to open in the spring. The news media were allowed inside the towers Monday. Hard Rock executives have said they will target luxury-seeking guest with the new suites. The HRH Tower will offer a separate entrance and guest check-in area.
